About The Seminole Tribune
The Seminole Tribune is the official newspaper of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Started a quarter century ago, the Seminole Tribune is published bi-monthly, with a circulation of more than 5000, and is distributed throughout the U.S.
The Tribune is generally regarded as one of the best publications in Indian Country. In 1989, the Seminole Tribune became the first Indian newspaper to win a Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award. The Tribune was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize that same year by the University of Florida.
The Seminole Tribune has consistently earned awards the last six years by Native American Journalists Association (NAJA). Recent awards include: Best Internet News Site, Best News Writing (Honorable Mention), Layout/Design, and General Excellence.
In 1997, the Seminole Tribune took home five awards, more than any Indian newspaper. The Seminole Tribune is also a member of the Native American Journalists Association.
