AH-TAH-THI-KI MUSEUM FACT SHEET

MEANING: In the Seminole language, Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki means "to learn."
LOCATION: Big Cypress Seminole Reservation

The museum is located 17 miles north of Alligator Alley (Interstate 75), Exit 14, between Fort Lauderdale and Naples.

OVERVIEW: The Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum is the first phase of a multi-million dollar project to preserve the history and culture of the Florida Seminoles. The 60-acre site in the heart of the Big Cypress Seminole Reservation will consist of seven buildings housing exhibits on the history and culture of the Seminole people, a Seminole village, and over one-mile of nature trails.

* LIVING SEMINOLE VILLAGE - see traditional chickees (open-air huts), daily camp life, Seminole artisans at work and ceremonial grounds.

* NATURE TRAILS AND BOARDWALKS - explore the Big Cypress Swamp and learn about the unique plants and wildlife

* GIFT SHOP - purchase Native American arts and crafts
