Citizens
- The Tribe maintains a seat on the Florida Governor's Council on Indian
Affairs, the Florida Folk Arts Council, National Congress of American Indians,
United South and Eastern Tribes, the National Indian Gaming Association, and
the Florida Cattleman's Association.
- Over 90% of Tribal members are active participants in the programs administered
by the Seminole Tribe's Education Department.
- Betty Mae Jumper was the first Seminole high school graduate when she
completed the curriculum of the Cherokee Indian Boarding School in 1949.
- Over 450 Tribal member students have graduated from high school since 1945.
- Approximately 570 Tribal members currently attend Florida public schools.
- More than 40 Seminole students are known to be enrolled in colleges or
universities.
- Tribal Education Department programs include Adult Education, Boarding School,
the Community Library, Headstart, Higher Education, Johnson O'Malley, Cultural
Education, Vocational Training, Job Training Partnership Act, Child Care, and the
Student Tracking System.
