COCONUT CREEK, FL - After an extremely successful first month, the Coconut
Creek Casino has announced that it's Grand Opening Event will take place on
Saturday, March 25th from 8:00am until midnight.
The announcement was made by Jo-Lin Osceola, General Manager of the casino.
"The entire Seminole Tribe is enthusiastic about the opening, and we are
expecting a tremendous turnout."
The casino is set on five acres of tribal land on Northwest 54th Street,
just east of State Road 7 off Sample Road.
Las Vegas and Seminole Indian style entertainment along with other
festivities will take place throughout the day. There will be everything
from an Elvis impersonator and Show Girls, traditional tribal dancing and
alligator wrestling. A local band will also be performing pop music.
The casino will offer photo booths where customers may have a free picture
taken with Elvis, the show girls or the tribal dancers. In addition, from
10:00am until midnight there will be a customer give away every hour on the
hour. Giveaway prizes will include things like television sets.
The centerpiece of the Coconut Creek Casino Grand Opening is the giveaway of
a 1966 collector's edition yellow convertible Corvair, worth over $10,000.
Entry forms will be distributed beginning March 1st at 8:00am at guest
services located near the front door. However, they can only be turned in
on the day of the drawing, March 25th. The drawing takes place at 6:00pm.
You do not have to be present to win.
Other giveaways for customers include grab bags, fanny packs, mouse pads and
phone cards.
The casino will also be donating $5000 to SOS Children's Village, the city's
official charitable organization.
"We're going to continue to be a good neighbor to the residents of Coconut
Creek," said Osceola. "This gaming facility enables the tribe to do many
things that benefit our members, the city of Coconut Creek and the state of
Florida."
Formally organized in 1957, the Seminole Tribe of Florida has evolved into
one of the state's major economic "engines," providing a wide range of
tourist attractions that are funded by several gaming facilities.
The Seminole Tribe of Florida has a significant impact on the state. It
currently employs more than 2,000 non-Indians and purchases more than $24
million in goods and services from more than 850 Florida vendors every year.
In addition, the Tribe pays $3.5 million in federal payroll taxes.
The Coconut Creek Casino is the Seminoles' fifth in Florida. Others are
located in Hollywood, Immokalee, Brighton, and Tampa.
