Department of Fire Rescue
Accepting applications for the position of:
Firefighter/Paramedic
(Part-time and Full-time positions available)
**Positions may be located on the Hollywood, Brighton, Immokalee or Big Cypress Reservation, or as deemed necessary.
Applicants must submit the following documents at time of application.
- State of Florida Firefighter II certification per Florida Statutes.
- State of Florida Paramedic certification per Florida Statutes.
- State of Florida Emergency Medical Technician certification per Florida Statutes.
- Emergency Vehicle Operators Course certification- “E.V.O.C”.
- Valid Florida Drivers License-Class D or above
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Social Security Card
- Birth Certificate (must be 21 years of age by May 1, 2009).
- Proof of citizenship or permanent residence.
Candidates are required to pass a written exam, physical agility test, medical exam, drug screening and comprehensive background investigation.
Salary: $ 42,365.03 plus:
* Rescue Diver certification incentive *Driver Operator certification incentive * Comprehensive benefits package * 24/72 schedule
