Big Cypress Land Use Compound

Big Cypress Land Use Compound, a Targeted Brownfield Assessment site as designated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is an approximately 11.5 acre parcel located approximately 1000 feet south of the intersection of County Road 833 and Herd Development Road within the Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation located in Hendry County, Florida. Before 1992, the lans was used for agricultural or cattle pastures. Currently, the site is subdivided into two developed fenced compounds, located on the northern portion, and an undeveloped heavily vegetated section (south) which is used to store used and/or abandoned equipment, construction debris and fill. The east compound is occupied by an approximately 1000 square foot maintenance building and 150 square foot storage shed. The west compound is occupied by a newly constructed approximately 800 square foot building connected to a covered open area.
